Transport

E-CUBE provides high-level expertise in all areas of the transport sector.

In detail

Our team of consultants brings together top-tier expertise and skills covering all markets in the transport and mobility sectors, addressing challenges related to transition and market liberalization.

Transport and mobility are evolving rapidly across Europe. This evolution is driven by the swift rise of electromobility, goals for rapid sector decarbonization, the liberalization of numerous segments (high-speed rail, public transport, etc.), and digitalisation: the latter has enabled the emergence of new mobility solutions, new ways to travel, and new markets (e.g. mobility as a service). E-CUBE originally focused on decarbonisation and new mobility solutions and expanded its scope to address all key challenges of the sector for several years, including the liberalization of long-distance rail and public transport (urban transportation networks, regional train service etc.) and digitalisation. We support our clients in tackling technical, economic, strategic (industrial, commercial), technological, and regulatory challenges. Our expertise and references cover all modes of transport (road, rail, maritime, air) and end uses (passenger and freight).

Our focus areas

Electromobility development

Development of electric vehicles (passenger, utility, heavy-duty trucks); electric vehicle charging infrastructure (public network, destination, workplace, home); development of electromobility for rail (battery-powered and hydrogen trains) and maritime sectors.

Liberalisation of rail transport

New rail entrants in long-distance, high-speed rail lines, freight rail, market design for liberalization (framework agreements), etc.

Decarbonisation

Bio-CNG, bio-LNG, biofuels, HVO, biodiesel, bioethanol, agrofuels, SAF, etc.

New mobility solutions

Micro-mobility (bicycles, scooters, e-scooters, etc.), car sharing, free-floating systems, local and long-distance carpooling.

Digitalisation & MaaS

Ticketing, B2C and B2B MaaS, Mobility Service Providers (MSP), fleet managers, and data analysis solutions for mobility and transport.

Liberalisation of public transport

Regional tenders (IDFM, regional authorities), Transilien, TER, buses, school transport, etc.

Industrial strategy

Positioning along the value chain (maintenance, ticketing, digital solutions), asset management, offer portfolio, and rolling stock management.

Our focus areas

Developing e-mobility :

Development of electric vehicles (passengers, HGVs, etc.); electric vehicle recharging infrastructure (IRVE) – on the public network, at destination, at work/depot, at home; development of e-mobility on the railways (battery-powered and hydrogen-powered trains) and on the sea, etc.

Decarbonation :

bioNGV, bioGNL, biofuels, HVO, biodiesel, bioethanol, agrofuels, SAF, etc.

New forms of mobility :

Micro-mobility (bicycles, scooters, etc.), car-sharing, free-floating, local and long-distance car-sharing, etc.

Digitalisation & MaaS :

Ticketing, B2C MaaS, B2B MaaS, Mobility Service Provider (MSP), fleet management, mobility and transport data analysis solutions, etc.

Competition from public transport :

Tenders, comparative analysis of operational performance, strategic support, etc.

Industrial strategy :

Positioning across the value chain (maintenance, ticketing, digital, etc.), asset management, range of services, rolling stock management, etc.

The voice of our expert

“Demand for public transport is growing, and there are high expectations of transport companies and public authorities to promote modal shift by increasing the quality, density and visibility of the services on offer. Managing this growth requires strategic tools to project the future and anticipate the impact (electrification, digitalisation, etc.) on transport companies”
